History

1921 - Our company’s history begins in 1921 when the industrialist Socrat Lalu founded the company with 16 employees and 3 lathes. In just 5 years, the company had over 130 employees who repaired coaches, locomotive injectors and iron casting.

1953 - The production of agricultural machinery begins in 1953 and is gradually becoming the main activity of the company, from that moment Mecanica Ceahlau's equipments being present in farms from all over Romania, and also in countries such as Russia, USA, Ukraine, Hungary, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Poland, Italy and countries from Africa and Asia.

1972 - The first seed drill (SPC6) was made in 1972, becoming the symbol of the company. The sales registered encouraged the development of the seed drills range that rapidly became known for their reliability and safety in use. Subsequent, Mecanica Ceahlau range has been gradually supplemented with other agricultural equipments, to offer our customers all the necessary machinery for their agricultural farms and the best solutions for optimal results.

1993 - In 1993, the company acquired the first foreign license Kleine for precision planters.

1999 - In 1999 Mecanica Ceahlau became a privately owned company and entered a new stage of modernization and adaptation to market demands.

2003 - To complement its own portfolio, in 2003 the company has purchased an additional external license: Lemken - for plows and compactors.

2006 - Since 2006 the company has been listed at the Bucharest Stock Exchange under the MECF symbol to Standard category, with major shareholders SIF Moldova (63.3%) and Romanian Opportunities Fund (30.2%).

2014 - To strengthen its position on Romanian market and to showcase the potential of the company, Mecanica Ceahlau begins from January 2014, a comprehensive operation of process modernization and working tools, the product portfolio and how to relate with farmers.

In July 2014 starts the factory process of modernization, which requires significant investments in rehabilitation and refurbishment especially welding workshops, painting and assembly.

October 2014 is a strategic moment in the development of Mecanica Ceahlau: the company is launching the first new generation of agricultural equipments, made in 100% Romanian concept.

In parallel, Mecanica Ceahlau renews ISO (TUV) certification, which attests the quality that underlies the work mode of production activity conducted by the company.

2015 - The new generation of equipments made in its own concept continues to develop and renewed portfolio of the company includes, from September 2015, more than 20 new or upgraded equipments, made in constant consultation with Romanian farmers. These equipments are participating for several months, on field demo, including in heavy work conditions so that the farmers all across the country can see live, on the field, the performances of the new equipments.

To complement its portfolio, Mecanica Ceahlau signs partnerships with manufacturers of tractors, front loaders, sprayers and other products required for any farmer's yard.

In November 2015 Mecanica Ceahlau participates under the Romanian pavilion at Agritechnica Hannover - the most important equipments fair worldwide event where Romanian manufacturer of agricultural equipment is present for the first time in company history.

The end of 2015 means for Mecanica Ceahlau, a number of national awards obtained for his performance: first place among local companies in the industry, awarded by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Neamt, respectively second place in the Industry category (midsize companies) in Romanian National Top of Companies, XXII edition, in 2015, awarded by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, inclusion in the Top of the most innovative companies from Romania (edition 2015), conducted by Business Magazine.

Our presence in these tops, awards financial performances, the courage to innovate and to invest in innovation, the entrepreneurship and ethical behavior in the company's business.

2016 - Continues the development of the product portfolio by launching new equipment made in its own concept which covers the needs of working of agricultural land.

The new range of Terrus CVT tractors launched in premier by STEYR at Hannover and winning the title „Tractor of the year 2016”, is now in Mecanica Ceahlau’s portfolio.

2017 - As a result of signing a new partnership, the company adds a new product in its portfolio: agricultural trailers with a capacity of 4 to 20 tons. The financial results and the sustained effort of the entire Mecanica Ceahlau team are recognized by keeping on the 1st place in the Top of Companies from Neamt County and in the National Top Companies, at the Middle Enterprises category, Industry domain.
